Kristen

| Kristen Messner has been dancing
for 38 years and an instructor for 25 years. Kristen has just completed
her 15th season as owner and artistic director of All About Dance. She
is a member of Dance Masters of America, Dance Masters of Ohio, Christopher
Professional Teacher's Association, USA Gymnastics, AAU and the Cecchetti
Council of America. Kristen holds certification for Cecchetti Associate
Level V Degree and acro-gymnastics, tap, ballet and traditional jazz certifications
as recognized through Dance Masters of America. In January of 2002, Kristen
served as an Assistant Dance Director for the Dance Masters of Ohio competition
in Columbus. Kristen's most recent professional credit includes performing as a singer/dancer across the waters of Alaska, Hawaii, and the Mexican Riviera on board the MS Statendam on Holland America Cruise Lines. There she performed in production shows such as "Showstoppers", "Sentimental Journey", "Personality" and Barry Manilow's "Copa Cabana". Kristen has performed in various dance promos for touring professional shows and recent industrials around the Cleveland area. She has also performed as a dancer in the Dee Hillier Showcase "Gotta Dance". Kristen stays very active as a dance student herself by attending weekly classes in Cecchetti Ballet, traditional jazz and Pilates throughout the Northeast Ohio area. In addition, she also enjoys keeping up with the latest styles of dance teaching technique by attending numerous dance conventions and workshops extending from Los Angeles to New York. She is a graduate of DMA's National Teacher's Training School at the University of Buffalo. Each year Kristen returns to the training school to study under some of the top dance instructors, performers and choreographers from around the country. This past summer Kristen kept especially busy during the summer by attending many various workshops and new classes throughout New York City including Yamuna Body Rolling and Broadway Dance Center's Teachers Training Seminar. As a youth, Miss Kristen was an Ohio state champion gymnast during her years as a member of the Cuyahoga Falls YWCA Gymnastics Team. Kristen is an alumnus of Kent State University where she earned a Bachelor's degree with honors in Behavioral Sciences. Kristen resides in Munroe Falls with her two dancing kitties, Sherman and Chloe. |
