All About Dance! By Kristen
All About Dance! By Kristen has prepared the following information for parents to read and refer to concerning the regulations, studio policies, and payment procedures. Please make your children aware of the policies that apply to them. Thank you for your cooperation.

Regulations

  1. All students are expected to be on their best behavior. Courtesy and respect will be shown by our staff and will be expected in return.

  2. Punctuality is important to your child's success. All classes will start on time. If students are to steadily progress, they must attend regularly, be on time, and practice at home. If your child must miss a lesson, it is your responsibility to notify the desk. If a make up class is necessary, the parent or student will be informed.

  3. Please use the provided locker area for storing coats and other belongings. Please store street shoes in the space provided under locker area. Make sure all belongings are labeled with your child's name, so that they may be returned if left in the studio. Refrain from leaving purses, money, and any valuables in the locker area. The studio will have a lost and found container, but its unclaimed contents will be given to the less fortunate every two months.

  4. Only Student Assistants will be permitted in the student assistant area.

  5. Please keep the studio clean by returning things to their proper place and by using the trash containers. There is NO SMOKING in the waiting area. NO GUM CHEWING is permitted while in the studio. FOOD AND DRINK are to remain ONLY in the lunchroom.

  6. Parents will be required to call the studio regarding class cancellation due to inclement weather conditions. A taped message will be recorded for your convenience. Snow day cancellations will be televised on WKYC Channel 3.

  7. Observation Week: Parents are invited and encouraged to observe their child's progress the last scheduled day of every month October through January. Due limited space, we ask that only two visitors per family attend visitor's day each month (one parent + one visitor = two people per family). Children will NOT be permitted in the classroom if they cannot sit and remain quiet.

  8. Attendance:
Perfect Attendance: Students who do NOT MISS ANY CLASSES will receive a perfect attendance award at the end of the dance season. If your child must miss a class, lessons may be made up within 2 weeks of the missed lesson by attending a different class during the week with the approval of your instructor. Make-up classes do not erase sick days, and therefore do not maintain a student's perfect attendance record. Students must actively attend at least 1/2 the class to be counted present.

    Attendance Merit:
In order for a student to be eligible for an attendance merit certificate, one sick day is allowed throughout the season. If your child must miss a class, lessons may be made up within 2 weeks of the missed lesson by attending a different class during the week with the approval of your instructor. Make-up classes do not erase sick days. They are only an opportunity to learn the missed material.

  9. Questions concerning your child's progress are welcomed. Please feel free to set up an appointment with the instructor.

  10. Parents, we ask your cooperation in keeping your younger children (those not attending class) quiet and well attended. The dance studio is a learning environment where unnecessary noise and distractions detract from both the classroom and waiting area.

  11. Suggestion: Dance apparel is available at the following area stores:

Dancer's Pointe: 4950 Darrow Rd., Stow, 655-5542 Stage Center: 908 N. Main St., Akron, 535-7816
