All About The Curriculum!

Our goal is to design classes that develop proper technique in each area of dance as well as provide students the opportunity to acquire an appreciation for the art of dance in an enjoyable atmosphere. All About Dance! by Kristen offers a variety of classes to fit the needs of pre-schoolers through adults.

Our Early Childhood Program begins by introducing children between 3 and 6 years of age to a strong foundation in dance and movement. Classes are grouped into age-specified levels which meet once a week and last either 45 or 60 minutes, depending on the age. (2 year olds and their parents may join the Mommy & Me course.)

For one hour a week, pre-schoolers 3 to 4 years of age will enjoy our Kindercise or KinderTap programs. Kindercise children will learn to enhance their locomotive, balancing and coordination skills through educational games, gymnastic equipment, songs, and choreographed dances. They will also be introduced to the beginning elements of classical ballet as well as new concepts such as classroom etiquette. KinderTap students will also be introduced to such concepts as musical awareness, classroom etiquette and expression of creativity through choreographed dances in classical ballet and pre-jazz as well as developing creative rhythmic expression through the introduction of tap dancing. Above all, children in our Kindercise and KinderTap program will develop creative expression in a fun and exciting atmosphere.

Children 5 to 6 years of age in our Early Childhood Program are able to choose from the primary levels of Ballet, Tap, Acro-Gym, Baton and Tot Bop (our Junior Jazz Program). For 45 minutes a week, children will learn to further control their movement and build on their skills from Kindercise and KinderTap in specific areas of dance. Concepts such as rhythm awareness, body placement and creative expression are expanded upon.

Students beginning at age 7 up to adults are offered professional instruction in Classical Ballet, Pointe (offered only to students physically prepared and properly trained), Tap, Jazz, Acro-Gymnastics, Baton, Lyrical Ballet and Hip Hop Jazz. Students at this level are encouraged to develop their imagination as well as their minds and bodies through their own original style of dance...concepts which will carry throughout their lives. All students are placed in classes, appropriate to their age as well as skill level.

All About Dance! by Kristen

All About Dance! by Kristen has specially created each class, allowing students to correctly develop their dancing talents. In order for your child to be well-rounded, we strongly urge all of our students to participate in more than one area of dance, with ballet as the foundation.

All About the Dress Code!

In order to provide a more professional atmosphere, solid black leotards with pink or tan tights are required in all ballet classes and encouraged in all others. All Kindercise/KinderTap classes are required to wear pink leotards with pink tights. Correct shoes are essential! We also encourage a neat and clean appearance with hair neatly secured and away from the face. Baggy T-shirt or street shorts are NOT permitted as these items make it difficult to detect any problems with body alignment and placement.

All About Visitor's Days!

Parents are invited and encouraged to observe their child's progress the last scheduled class of every month beginning in October. Any questions regarding your child's progress are welcomed. Please feel free to set up an appointment with the instructor.

All About Recital Performance!

Each year All About Dance! by Kristen creates an original recital production or a showcase performed by the students. At the end of our dance season in May or June, the students will have the opportunity to display their talents for family and friends.
