Each year, the All About Dance staff creates an original production, rivaling a Broadway show. Students learn fun, entertaining choreography that demonstrates the hard work they have put forth throughout the year. Costumes, lighting, props and an original theme are what make these shows a crowd-pleaser year after year.

Check out our video clip below to see a glimpse of a show-stopping performance!

Students enrolled in kinder-classes perform one time in the annual recital. All other students perform one time in each of the styles of dance in which they are enrolled. A big part of dance training includes learning through performance. Although performance opportunities help prepare some students for a possible career in dance, performance opportunies also contribute to children’s success in non-dance activities. This experience will build self-esteem and confidence, which can result in improved social skills and strong college and job interview skills. Attending rehearsals will benefit your child as well. The rehearsal process helps the children develop retention skills, and by working with their classmates on a group performance, they learn the positive aspects of teamwork.

Recital time is a fun and exciting event that our students look forward to each year.  There is much to do and accomplish for students, teachers, and office staff alike.  For parents, it is not only a financial commitment, but a time commitment as well.  Spring is a busy time for all and brings new obligations, so please be sure of all dates and events and mark your calendars in advance.  Other important recital dates are listed below.

Additional rehearsals may be scheduled for students at the discretion of the teacher/choreographer. Parents and students will be notified of additional rehearsals at least two weeks in advance.  Some classes may be combined or have extra rehearsals for staging and choreographic purposes while aiding the student to know exactly where to go and who they stand next to as well as extra practice to become comfortable with their routine.  You are not charged for these extra classes.

All students participate in our annual recital to be held at Cuyahoga Falls High School.  Please note that all students must participate in the dress rehearsal in order to perform in the recital. There are no exceptions to this policy.  All students who participate in the recital are required to perform both nights.

Non-participants will need to inform the office in writing BY NOVEMBER 5TH that they will not be participating in the recital so they will not be included in any choreography and formations and so a costume is not ordered.

Costumes

The All About Dance Staff spends many hours determining the correct costumes for each class. Costumes are always age appropriate. Kinder-class students will need one costume; all other students will need one costume for each dance style they are enrolled in. Costumes include all accessories (hats, gloves, tights, etc.), but do not include shoes.  Props can be extra small fee.

In an effort to ensure that costumes are delivered in time for recital photos, costume orders are placed during the December holiday break. Costume manufacturers do not accept cancellations or offer refunds; therefore the school does not refund costume deposits.

NEW COSTUME PAYMENT SCHEDULE FOR 2011-2012

All About Dance by Kristen coreates an original recital production performed by students. Costumes are a necessary part of that show. A $75.00 recital costume deposit per class per child is due by November 21st. For your concenience, the costume deposit may be divided into monthly payments beginning in August. You are welcome to pay more than the minimal deposit if that works better for your financial planning. Late fee for costumes deposits:
