Imagination often carries us to worlds that never were, but without it, we go nowhere… Carl Sagan
Cheryl has been in the dance industry her whole life. Being raised in a family of professional performers and teachers, she was exposed to many facets of the performing arts. She feels fortunate to have grown up in a family who created their own large productions, designed and built their own sets and props, worked with a live orchestra to arrange their own music [no taped music or CD’s back then], worked with costume designers [no ready-made costumes either], and even produced their own local television show; she was destined to love the creative side of life. In addition to her years teaching in the family studios, she owned her own successful studio, designed a variety of children’s after-school dance programs, choreographed a variety of community theatre shows, such as 42nd Street and Cabaret, while also working with costuming, makeup, hair, and props. After closing her studio and retiring for a brief period, she came to work for All About Dance by Kristen, enjoying being able to once again pass on her knowledge to another generation. But she also takes much pride in creating and designing their annual original production for the past 17 years. Working and collaborating with Miss Kristen and seeing everyone’s hard work come together in one fabulous show has not only been a fulfilling experience but a genuinely fun one too. Memories she says she will never forget.
