Lauren has been dancing for 30 years in many styles of dance. She began dancing at the age of 3 at Art in Motion Dance Center in Medina, Ohio. She received instruction in jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, modern, hip hop, and musical theater. She also danced competitively for many years and was able to take part in many workshops, conventions, and yearly recitals and competition showcases.
Along with dance, Lauren was also a cheerleader and gymnast since the age of 7. She cheered all throughout middle school and high school becoming the captain her senior year. After high school Lauren had to choose between dance and cheer when she started her education at the University of Akron.
Lauren danced with the University of Akron dance team for 5 years and danced competitively with them at NDA and UDA Nationals each year! She gained a lot of experience with the dance team and began teaching classes at IRBD School of Dance. She taught jazz, tap, hip hop, and acro and this is where her love of teaching began. Watching students learn and grow to love dance is such an honor for her.
Lauren graduated in 2016 with her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing with a Minor in Dance. After graduating college, Lauren danced professionally on the Cleveland Monsters Hockey Girls team which is a sister team to the Cavs girls.
Today Lauren is a home care pediatric nurse with Akron Children's Hospital. She is also the Head Coach of the Stow-Munroe Falls Dance Team going on 3 years now for both football and basketball seasons. She is married to a Kent Firefighter/Paramedic and has two boys ages 6 and 4.
While holding a variety of roles including nurse, wife, mother, and dance coach, she has always tried to keep dance a part of her life and has recently started dancing for the Cleveland Dance Project for the last two years performing in yearly showcases.
Becoming a mother and watching her own children grow and learn, Lauren is committed to helping students who have the drive to dance, reach their goals and learn to perform with confidence just as she was taught with her many years of experience. Lauren finds that dance is the best way to express yourself through movement and is an amazing outlet for releasing stress and anxiety.
